บ้านสวน "Baan Suan" (Garden House)
บ้านสวน "Baan Suan" translates to Garden House. This collection is drawn from the gardens of Southern Thailand, the origin of our textiles. Every piece carries a botanical record of its origin, rendered in black vine and rose gold accent. Emphasizing Politea's language, the raw weave, the natural resistance of the vine. The body of each bag is shaped and inspired, by the particular weight and memory of material.
Introducing
The garden remembers what the market forgets. บ้านสวน, the living archive of the Thai south.
Built to last
Our material is made of special industrial crop, which is tough and has a long useful life, outlasting rattan and water hyacinth. Pieces woven during the reign of King Rama remain in good condition today. It's toughness and durability does not warp, weaken, or wear out.
Craft
The work requires much meticulousness, fineness and patience as the weaving process has to be gradually done strip by strip. Even though it is a time-consuming production process, a finished work itself is unique.
Aesthetic
Our visual draws from the oriental style of Southeast and East Asia. Lacquered surfaces, gilded detailing, the geometry of temple architecture, the precision of ink painting.
